Georgia

Education in public schools, particularly in the Ukrainian sector, is fully financed by the state, and school textbooks are provided free of charge to all classes.

State system of school education

In Georgia, school education begins at the age of six. It has three levels:

  • primary school (6 years);

  • elementary school (3 years);

  • secondary school (3 years).

After completing primary school, students receive a certificate of basic education, and after completing the twelfth grade, a certificate of complete secondary education. After the 9th grade of school, you can get secondary professional education. A certificate of complete secondary education of a vocational/technical secondary school or a specialized secondary school is issued in addition to the diploma of secondary vocational education.

How to choose a school?

Parents can choose a school for their child's education if there is an available place. Although most schools can admit all children who apply, there is no automatic guarantee of a place at the school you choose. Your chosen school may put your child on a waiting list or you may need to contact other schools to find a place. Website to find schools: https://www.education.ie/en/Find-a-School/.
