Czech universities offer special scholarships for Ukrainian students. For more information about admission to the chosen university, please use the contact indicated in the scholarship offer.


Available scholarships by the university:


1. The University of South Bohemia in the Czech Republic

The educational institution positions itself as a research institution with an emphasis on natural, humanitarian, and social sciences.


Support from the University of South Bohemia! Offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral studies, including even short-term courses.

Languages of instruction - Czech, English. For some study programs - French, German, Spanish, and Italian. If you need to know the Czech language when choosing a faculty, the university offers both short-term and long-term language courses.

The scholarship program applies to all areas of study. Financial support is provided on the basis of each student's application and proof of financial hardship.

2. Masaryk University

Higher educational institution founded in 1919, located in Brno.

It is the second-largest university in the Czech Republic by the number of students. It consists of 9 faculties and more than 200 departments, in addition, it is the only university that has its own polar station in Antarctica.


The university provides assistance to internally displaced persons from Ukraine. Students are provided with a scholarship of up to 11800 Czech crowns per month (480 euros), which is available only for full-time studies. MU has also prepared courses for students with a language barrier - the opportunity to attend language courses before starting their studies.

Terms of payment


State education in the Czech language is free. According to the law, higher education in the Czech language in public and state institutions is free for citizens of all nationalities.

However, some fees may apply: fees for the administration of admission procedures, fees for extending the duration of studies beyond the established limit and fees for foreign language studies. Please note that private institutions of higher education can independently set tariffs. Tuition in English or another foreign language ranges from $0 to $22,350 per year. The exact amount depends on the respective institution and study program.

Admission conditions for Ukrainians


To be eligible for admission to higher education in the Czech Republic, you must have a recognized diploma of the previous cycle of study:

  • For admission to a bachelor's degree: a high school diploma is required.

  • To apply for a master's degree: You need a bachelor's degree.

  • Doctorate: You need a master's degree.

It is important to note that your degree must be recognized by the Czech authorities, to which you must submit an application for recognition of previous studies. You can read about the process here: https://www.studyin.cz/plan-your-studies/recognition/.


In addition to these basic entry requirements, you should expect a few specific requirements set by each university, such as:

  • entrance exam or interview (you can have an interview via Skype)

  • confirmation of language knowledge

  • motivation letter

  • recently updated resume

  • extract of grades

Czech universities do not have a single admission system. Documents can usually be downloaded online from the program website. However, for admission to a university in the Czech Republic, it is also necessary to send documents by mail. Note that some universities charge an application or entrance exam fee, which is usually around €20.


What certificate is required


Certificate of complete general secondary education.


Types of visas, visa issues


Non-EU students arriving for more than one year must apply for a long-term study permit. In order to obtain a student visa or a residence permit, the following documents are mainly required:

  • application letter for admission to study

  • valid passport and passport photos

  • confirmation of financial resources for stay (for example, in the form of a bank account statement)

  • confirmation of guaranteed residence

  • valid international health insurance

  • extract from the criminal record

Please note that some documents (for example, an extract from the criminal record) must be translated into Czech by a certified translator with a seal.

Bachelor's degree (3-4 years).

Master's degree (1-3 years).

Doctor's degree (3-4 years).
